imhoff.us is a family history archive documenting the Imhoff and Pryor lines. I have maintained it since the early 2000s, and it now covers more than 1,200 people across 344 surnames, with records going back to the 1300s.
Why I do this
I started this archive to preserve the material I received from my father, Richard; my uncle, Joseph Daniel Pryor (my mother’s brother); and my great-great uncle, Ferdinand (Fr. Maurice) Imhoff. The stories they had pulled together drew me into both history and our family’s genealogy.
What began as a way to preserve their work has grown into a place where these families’ records, photographs and stories are kept together, for relatives and researchers to use.
Beyond the archive
Genealogy intersects with my passion for history and archaeology. The same curiosity that fuels my genealogical research has led me to visit sites such as Stonehenge, Machu Picchu, Easter Island, and Roman ruins across the UK and Italy. I’m also a U.S. Air Force veteran who served at Norton and March Air Force Bases, and I’ve worked in healthcare technology since 1994.
